Censoring Democracy

"As of 2012, over 50 percent of American homes owned an iPad, iPhone, or Mac computer, making Apple products the most popular platform from which to consume media and software in America.

Worryingly, Apple has used its power to shape—and censor—the kind of apps that are available for download. Under Jobs’ leadership, Apple banned apps that featured the following key terms from installation on its devices: Democracy, Freedom, Liberty, and Capitalism. Jobs even suggested buying competitors’ products if they wanted to view things which he considered to be morally suspect."

Coincidence or purposeful? You decide.
